ok, i guess i was kinda vague on the last message i went out and bought him pellets cause i had already tried with lil piece of tuna, chicken, lettuce, and even an earthworm but it hasnt eaten any. i ended up putting him in a tank of lotus plants so he could bask and even eat some of the plant in case he was just too scared to see me. im new at having a turtle. How bout a tip... |

It is common for new babies to not eat at first. They get scared with the transition. Make sure he is warm enough and has a good basking area with UVB and he will come around. Just keep offering little bits. Make sure the pellets are small enough you can break them into smaller pieces too. Until he starts eating for you I would just put one broken up one in th etank. No sense wasting them . _________________

You wont be able to. Mine, the bigger it grew the more it lost the green color. Still a cutie though.
he looks more like this (the one in the back)

When young, RES turtles have a very bright green shell, but as they grow, it darkens. There is nothing you can do that change that, it is just natures way. _________________ -= Shannon =- |

first i had my trtle in an aquarium then a tub outside while i built a pond, then i moved it to the pond after a week it disappeared. Im thinking a row took it, cause they even take dog food. IT COULD OF gotten out but the water level was too low. I searched for it all over. |

Please make sure your pond is escape and predator proof before putting a turtle in it. I wouldn't recommend putting a baby turtle in a pond.
Turtles sleep just like other animals... at night mine usually floats with his eyes closed. Sometimes he sleeps on his rock while he's basking. |
