I'm looking to add some sort of natural looking/feeling formations to my tank and am wondering if anyone has any good suggestions. I'm not looking for sunken ships or castles or anything. Just stuff that would be seen in nature like rock or coral formations. I don't want plastic, I want it to look and feel somewhat real.

Thanks!

I put a rock in mine. I got it from the one mountain near my house and cleaned it really well. Make sure the rock(s) is/are bigger than your turtles head or else it may eat them Sad

If you want to do this, you can clean them by running them under water and getting most of the dirt off. Then take just a little bleach and put it on a rag (either a junky rag that you don't care if it gets ruined, or a pure white one or else your rag will be spotted! Laughing ) and scrub the rock with it. That way you make sure you get all of the germs off of it before giving it to your turtle Smile Rinse it off extremely well before putting it in your turtles tank. I'm sure bleach wouldn't be good for them!

That is what I did for my turtles rock and it seems to have worked fine. But like I said, make sure you rinse it off really really really super duper well!

Also, you can buy certain plants to put in their tank. This will really give them a natural look and feel!

Bleach is chlorine. Like chlorine in the water. Not good for your turtle. A better way is to just scrub it of with a small amount of white vinegar. About 3 TBS in a gallon of hot water. Rinse well.

I designed my tank to be relatively natural looking using driftwood and river stones, I recommend boiling water and vinegar to clean your stones and also dry them completely in the hot sun.

Nice set up. And thanks for suggestions, all. I'll see what I can come up with. I'm still trying to find a type of plant he won't eat or destroy.

He will eat any and all plants, which is why I used plastic plants.
