Hey there, quick question, the filter I have right now creates a waterfall and it seems like it's leaving hard water deposits on the tank from the spray.... does anyone else have this problem? How do I clean it? I've been using a razor to scrape it off, but isn't there something I can use to loosen it up a little? It's a lot of work! Geez, I'll be glad when tax returns get to me so I can finally buy that fluval 404!! _________________ shade & sweetwater! |

HI... I've read that "vinegar" takes it off... I have used it, but still found myself scrubbing and scrubbing... But you need to really rinse it out well... u don't want turtles getting sick or worse....

...okay! You might also want to soak for a bit..Of course you'll have to take the tank outside, or in the tub... I did that for a bit then scrubbed...
Currently, I have SOME residue, but not as much as before... Maybe it's the conditionar I just bought.... REptisafe or something... its like BLUE koolaide... good luck! _________________ 3 RES: Sampson AKA Sammie, Van Gogh, and Sonic

I'll have to take the tank outside, it's too big to try to put in my tub (my tub barely fits me!! ) so it's going to have to wait till the snow here melts and then I'll soak it, for now, since it's still winter it looks like I'm just going to have to use elbow grease!! Thanks for your help! Megan _________________ shade & sweetwater! |

Elbow greese should do, and not need to lug it outside IN THE SNOW! Wow! Don't get too much of that around here... (i'm in Houston)...
