ok..I've been gone from here a bit, very busy lately...Yesterday we got a good water heater and while the thermomter says it's only 73°F Kalas is in the water and has been since last night...I'm getting a new thermometer when we go to Kingston Wednesday...my old one messed up and wouldnt go past 60°F so maybe this one is messed too cuz I have the heater set to 82°F So yea...anywhoo...
I bought 6 feeders(it was 6 for .99˘)and two died on their own I think..Only the rosey things died so I think I'll try and stick with guppies from now on as they seem hardier...and ate the bit of fishie food I sprinkled in this morning...I also had a few peices of dried shrimp as the girl at the pet store said it was a good snack and usually what she'll feed her turtles when they refuse to eat...I think he may have eaten a couple peices of that but I am not sure....
I watched him a bit last night and he is interested in the feeders cuz he sat at the bottom just watching one, closely, as it swam over him and such...but didn't go after it...Then he sat and looked like he was trying to sneak up on one, but it kept swimming further away from him...Is he just lazy? Not interested that much? Too young to be able to hunt them well yet? Or maybe really not hungry?
He didn't eat the day we got him and then went right into hiding in the rocks until yesterday...so thats...9 days almost we had him before he came back out of hiding...So I am curious as to what I should do? Should I just keep waiting and hope he'll eat something eventually...or try some different foods...or what? I dont wanna bug him all the time if he is trying to hunt the feeders(He hides whenever I come upon the tank too quickly), but I dont want him to starve either!
Thanks... |

put him in a small container (like he's trapped), put some tuna with him, and give him some privacy. this has to work _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo
