Hey everybody. I just got a red-eared slider the other day. He's from chinatown NY (I know, I shouldn't support those places but I didn't want to risk having one shipped and I wanted to save one from the environment) and I named him Lincoln. I have him setup in a 2.5 gallon tank with a rock to come out and bask on and so far he seems to be digging it. He's rarely in his shell and spends most of his time napping and paddling around, doing turtle stuff. He still hasn't eaten his reptomin though. I'm hoping there's just an adjustment factor.

he's such a cutie and although from an unsuitable place, he looks healthy Smile

take good care of him. btw, this setup is too small for him. if u can't afford something bigger u can put him in a rubbermaid they're much cheaper. did u read the care sheets? i'm sure that u haven't been told what turtles need but it's controllable somehow so don't worry. if u have any Q's, comments, stories, pix... related to ur turtle, we're interested Razz

one more thing, not eating, not basking, and hiding are very normal now since he's still a baby. good luck and keep us posted Smile

Welcome to the board, Zero & Lincoln! You'll come to find there are a lot very turtle savvy members here!! Laughing

And they're so quick to answer any questions you might have. You should definitely read up on all the things Lincoln is going to need... you'll find it all on the All Turtles website. Congratulations on your new turt! And again welcome to the board!
