they take more care than it is let on... they can also live for up to like 20 years in captivity... also make sure if you get them get more than one, they live in colonies in the wild... they need humidity and need to keep their modified gills moist... they are noctornal so dont be suprised if you dont see them move much... i give mine a bath once a week as is suggested by many hermit crab owners... here are some links for helpful hermit crab websites i have come across...
