All Turtles Message Board

My children were bought a 6 month old yellow billed slider each for Christmas (one male one female). They are currently in a tank in the kitchen and I have been told that they can be transferred into the garden pond when they are a little older. Does anyone have any advice? We live in England and there is very little information available about turtles here as they are a very unusual pet.

yes they can live outside IF u're sure it's safe for them (from cats, dogs, even birds, or any other animals..or dangerous human beings!!)

anyways, it is suggested that they are older than 4 years to be kept outdoors so when it gets too cold they can hibernate.
