If I take them out in the sun for a couple of hours everyday or put them by a window to get some sunlight do I still need to buy one of these lamps? At night I usually leave a gooseneck lamp on to keep them warm. Is that okay?

yep a couple of hours a day in Direct sunlight is actually better than artificial UV bulbs. btw, direct is unfiltered by screens, glass, or anything
