|

| Should I adjust the basking and UV lamps for my sliders with the changing light conditions as the seasons change outside? I keep my 3 RES's in a large indoor pond that is heated all year round. Should I keep it spring and summer all year (maybe 12-14 hours of light), or should I shorten their days to reflect the fact it's winter coming on? Again, the air and water temp will remain the same all year. Thanks! |

i'm not sure of that but turtles in the wild prepare themselves to hibernate in this time of the year so they don't care about how much sun they get. keep it as it is i guess.. _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo

I would say that unless your going to fully change their seasons (water temp too) that you should leave the lighting as is. You might confuss them by changing the lighting and not the temp. -I wouldn't worry too much about it. _________________ 2 big RES, 1 Flowerhorn Cichlid, 1 Cockatiel.
