|
|
| I have 3 RES for over a year now. I feed them reptomin pellets and some feeder fish once a month. But lately, I noticed that their shells are starting to pyramid. This never happened before until now. I haven't moved them to a different tank or changed their environment in any way. Should I change their diet to something else to stop this from happening? |

what is the size of the setup? might be that there's no enough space for them to grow freely, taking into consideration that diet is ok.. _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo

How much are you feeding them, if they are a year old like mine are, they should be getting fed every other day (one day yes, one day no). Mine too have some bumps on their shell, mostly due to my lack of will power, it is hard to just walk by while your children are begging for food. _________________

My Tuga has signs of getting fat, ie: pyramid shell and fat rolls around her back legs. I feed her pellets and occasionally raw tenderlion. How can I cut her back w/o starving her? I can't stand to walk idly by when she begs _________________ RL2880 |

don't cz u will hurt her. replace them with let's say a pellet or two per day and keep floating leaves with her. she won't starve herself don't worry _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo

I think feed him low fat foods - Lean chicken breast, fish (very good) and (sorry for any fish lovers!!!) put some fish in the tank, dont feed him and just keep a watch. He should chase them and catch them. This should give him some exercise as well.
Let him walk around once a day
Stuff like Beef heart is Extremely fatty. and just check the nutri list on the back of the pellets and choose one with the least fat.
hope that helps |

Thanks for all the advice! She has taken a liking to cooked chicken breast, although my wife thinks I am nuts for cooking chicken for a turtle. She doesn't understand . _________________ RL2880 |
