Question OK it it normal for my baby RES to never get out the water? I have a land area and water. He always stays in the water tho....is that ok? I take him out once a week when i wash his tank and let him walk around the floor and get dry. But that's pretty much it.
Also is there a way to get him to eat some greens... like romaine lettuce and what not?

PS. How do I get turtle points like you all have and not just be a guest?? Smile

welcome to the board Smile

since when do u have him? usually new turtles feel unsafe to get out of water cz they think they are hiding in there. he might be basking when no one's around especially at night but u don't see him.

also if he's too young, he wouldn't really eat greens exactly like human babies Smile

for turtle points, u're already getting and in level 1 Smile

good luck with ur little guy

Make sure your basking are temp in higher than the water. so as to give him a little encouragement.

My turtles never liked to go on artificial (smooth) surfaces. Whenever I replaced them with an uneven rock or pile of rounded rocks, they would immediately climb right up. The other thing I noted is that they like a spot where they can look around. Rock piles in a corner were ignored.

Here's an image of the current setup. Note the ramp in the front. Sometimes she likes to go for a walk.
