We've got 2 RES that we've had for 4 years. When we first got them, their shells were in great condition, but have continually worsened. They were eating a mix of those grey-green tetra min pellets and the red repto treats, but then would only eat the red ones. They would never touch veggies and only recently would eat fish. They've also got soft wispy pieces of skin attached but "floating". I've tried the soak from Zoo Med, but maybe I just need to do it more often? Any ideas?

No, the skin is actually attached, and the shell just seems to be peeling away all over.

Yes, I see it while in the water. It also comes off and it's on the filter. The shell is not bright anymore, and it's got patches of whitish-green coloring as well.

the skin is probably normal shedding but for the shell, it could be mineral deposits which happens bcz of water problems..check this about treating it http://www.austinsturtlepage.com/Care/medshell.htm#White%20Patches%20on%20Shell: _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo
