ah sorry then (my bad)

so do you keep them all in the same tank? I had a softshell once (I didn't know much at all about turtles then) and I had bought all of them together...the softshell did not live very long... It makes me so mad at the people that sell the little things telling you its so easy to take care of them...ofcourse I can only blame myself too since i didn't look into it first:( I hear they can get rather huge though

I keep them all in the same tank (but not Emite) because Maggie and Brigget were eating Him he`s with Brian know, but dont have a good picture of him( hes a Quachita map. I think Question and i had 2 soft shells but Alyson drowned because she went behined the rock to escape from Brigget ( the other soft shell) never know they die so easly. I think she has been a year with me, shes a Chinese shoft shell., and in china they eat them how crule Mad Mad Mad . shes 5 inchs know shes as big as my palm. she was 2 inchs when i got her (and the pet shop man said notting about them, just that they are Soft shell turtles.

yeah thats the thing with pet stores. most of em only care about the money. Thats great that you've had her for so long (although i'm sorry to hear about the other). The book I just read says that a spiny softshell female can get to be 18 inches and that the Florida softshell can be TWO FEET! That's huge! They are soo interesting to me...it's the nose that gets me! I later found out from my vet that softshells are carnivores and will even eat prekilled mice! (eww) and that they need a fine substrate like sand to bury under. Keep me posted on her- I would love to see how much she grows! Smile

I would but i dont have the right substrate for a softshell to burrow in and she would probably get SCUD from rubbing the rocks. and I also don't have a big enough tank. I have an adult RES in a 75gal but i might consider it the next time I upgrade. Smile

(only take 2 hours and a half cleaning it).my father made it but i wanted him to make it bigger . In summer last year every 2 days i cleand the tank. and this year im going to start working so i wont have time. so im going to put them in over pond (when i empty it and paint it)... Razz

You keep all of those different species of turtles together?? You may want to consider separating them. Especially since you have turtles of different ages living together. Turtles (especially Softshells) are aggressive animals and will fight.

Yes but 2 on their own Emite & Brian(dont have good pic of Brian) Because Brigget & Maggie attacked Emite. So i hade to separata them. Plus there almost the same age the small ones are under 1 year (Fabio is 2 months &1 year)& Brigget is 2 years. Plus my big baby Maggie is 2 years & 2 months Arrow . Also Brigget stoped biting since Alyson drowned(soft shell) because of Brigget Sad Crying or Very sad . Brigget is very gentil (know)... Razz

I see.

You may want to look into buying a larger tank. Turtles need 10 gallons per inch of shell length.

I would separate them by species.

Good luck with them though.
