Hi everyone! My sister and I just wanted to introduce ourselves formally and thank you in advance for all the great information!

We have added 2 new members to our family. Sammie (Sampson, and Dash. Sammie is very strong (thus the name) and Dash is always in a hurry to go somewhere (name say's it all).

We've only had them a week and already know they're character!

Dash is a scardy cat and always hides from us or runs off his basking rock when he sees us coming. Sammie is the opposite, seems to like us a bit more. Sammie comes towards us when we take him out and Dash is always heading West when he's out. It's too funny!

We did some research before buying them. My sister, Angelica, who turned 13 last week kept saying how much she wanted a turtle. Well, ME too, so it was a present for the both of us. WE are looking forward to growing old with them (hopefully) and keeping them as comfortable as possible.

They're house is a 10 gallon aquarium. I have a feeling it won't be their home for long though. When they get bigger I will definately accomodate them. Right now they're in the Holiday Inn, so when they get bigger we'll upgrade them to the Ramada, and eventually maybe the Hilton. It all depends on them and how big they get.

We've had smelly water problems since we got them. I've already asked in a differen thread on how to get rid of it, so I won't go into that now.

Anyway, I will definately always have questions, and I am very greatful that you guys have this site. It has been MORE helpful than the pet store which I refer to as a meat market. They just want to sell...

Oh, by the way, we are from Houston, Texas. I'm 32 and my sis is 13.
