I am not sure about the Plecos, but I imagine they are just like the turtles when it comes to friends, they will tolerate each other as long as there is enough space to get out of each other's way, some will become friends, but others will become bitter rivals, especially during feeding. I have seen plecos in the petstore tanks, just about all of them are doing their own thing, I don't even think that they realize there is another fish with them, all they see is the algae Very Happy , I am thinking that either way is fine, as long as there is enough food for both plecos, there shouldn't be any problem. Very Happy

When you say food for them do you mean the algee?

Because that is all the thing has eaten since I bought him in April and he got twice as big.

Yeah, they also make algae wafers for them if there isn't enough algae in the tank.

I suggest you wait until your tank is established and see if the one pleco is keeping it clean, if not get another one. Razz

plecos are okay to keep with turtles.

they eat algae chips once a day.

when you get a bigger set up, and bigger filters to process amonia, you'll notice the pleco will GROW.

plecos can go to about 20 inches in a big enough environment. i know people usually see them at 6/7 inches max.. but that's because the ammonia in the environment stunted their growth.

good luck iwth the pleco though! once it gets about the same size as the turtle, things will be good lol.
