I have two male turtles that i've had for about six years now. Just recently i've noticed that they have been doing the "turtle dance" and earlier today i caught one trying to mate with the other. Exclamation i don't know what to do. My mom is worried that eventually one might hurt or kill the other. Crying or Very sad Should i seperate the turtles or should i just let them be? Question Any help would be much appreciated.

welcome to the board Smile don't worry they won't kill each other, ok they usually scratch or bite but no major injuries occur. it's better that u separate them so u don't get babies especially if u don't have space and time for them. good luck Smile

They are both boys dixieee Very Happy

Mine do the same thing and they are both boys too, I figure that as long as you don't see aggressive behavior, you shouldn't worry too much, they have been together for six years so they know each other pretty well, they might nip at each other if they get annoyed but as long as it doesn't get worse than that, I wouldn't worry too much. Very Happy

oh i just saw that stray Embarassed

we got through a similar "debate" b4 about homosexuality in animals jude. actually i'm starting to think that turtle genders are the opposite of our's. their males are our females and vice versa Rolling Eyes
