| my baby stinkpot is very active in his tank. he has plenty of water and places to swim, hide, and bask. it seems sometimes tho that all he does he is swim into the glass and i feel bad for him. i'm wondering if something is stressing him out or why he does not seem content in his tank. if you know anything about htis let me know! |

They have ears, they are under the skin, right where the red marking is, that is where they get the ear abcess problem. _________________

| My turtles did that for a while when I first got them. It may be the instinct to flee when they feel trapped or in danger. How long has your been doing this? Mine stopped doing it after they were comfortable with their surroundings. |

i read somewhere that stinkpot turtles (the kind i have) are very active. that could explain his constant swimming. he likes to climb out of the water onto his turtle dock and dive back into the water over and over. haha.
sometimes he just swims back and forth along the side trying to escape. it probably is his instincts i just wish he would be content in his own place!! at least it shows me that hes healthy and active. i just feel bad for him. maybe a backdrop on the sides of the tank would help him feel more secure?? does anyone have this in their tanks? |

I have a backdrop and I do think that it helps them feel more safe, at least they can have there back to something. lol. When I thought that mine were a little afraid of their new place I put a clay pot in the tank and faced it backwards so that the bottom of the pot was facing me, this way if they want to be unsociable and hide they can. |
