My RES "Dyrtle" only eats when I'm not around and she eats a whooooole lot but she only eats dried-up shrimp. I also got her some fruit and vegetable gel, "she throws it in my face because she doesn't like it. No, she ignores everything else that i feed her, I don't want to stop feeding her the shrimp cause I'm scared I'll starve her but I also want to feed her other health stuff.
Please help me.

all i do is shake the container and the swim right up to me and its like they are trained by the sound !

or mix the dried shrimps with the pellets and keep reducing one while putting more from the other until she gets used to the taste and eats the pellets by themselves

I have tried to mix the shrimp with the vegetable gel but she refuses to eat it. I wanted to feed her some fruits and veggie besides the shrimp but she won't eat anything else. Crying or Very sad
The worst is that she will only eat when I'm not home so even if I try to feed her something else, she won't take it from me, (except for my finger of course) Laughing

ok then don't put anything else except floating leaves, let's say lettuce. she'll eat it sooner or later, they don't starve themselves

I love my turtle too much, I don't see myself waiting 5 much less 7 days to feed her. She also a shy one, It kills me when she hides in the corner when I'm around Sad
If I do that I'm gonna automatically think that she hates me. There has to be something else I can do. Sad

How often should you feed RES? My bigger one is about 1.5 in. I have had him since July, found him crawilng across my drive way. The other one I jst got the other day, and he is smaller. So I was curious how often I should feed them. Rolling Eyes

They are babies -- they need to be fed every day. You can get some Reptomin Baby Turtle food, or use the regular turtle sticks. Give them a variety of food, too -- a little cooked chicken (no fat), shrimp, green veggies (but not spinach). At this age they are carnivores but eventually they will turn to vegetarians.

u can control that, flip them and look at their feet holes. if u see flesh coming out like fats then u need to cut the quantity down. i don't know what size are the 3 but i guess u wouldn't have any problems with that Smile

enjoy feeding time Very Happy
