i am going to make a nesting area as my basking area....and i was wondering if it would be alright for the 2 turtles to be together.....what happends if she does lay eggs would my male try and disturb her during the laying process...b/c they are a great pair and i can avoid the sepration it make it easier for me ....basically can i have 2 turtles if one may be dropping eggs

I was thinking that you might make something like an aluminum cake pan for the nesting site, that way if the turtle does lay eggs, you can remove the whole pan and put another one in its place while the eggs get incubated. Very Happy Just a thought Very Happy

the tetra viquarium.....i have it and im going to place bricks to hold a wall and fill that area in w/ sand/soil mix.....and it says u need to fill it w/ 25 lbs of gravel but it would be sand /soil mix....will they both be ok together....even if shes may be nesting

Well, from what I understand about turtles laying eggs, is that they don't stay around after laying the eggs, generally, they will lay the eggs and then go merrily on their way, Very Happy, so after you see that she has laid her eggs, remove the pan or whatever you used, without moving the eggs, and set them in an encubator of some kind. Very Happy
