| Hello everyone, I have been researching turtles for a while and am considering getting a turtle, my mother had russian tortoises for a long time, and I have always liked turtles. I am looking into getting a box turtle, I want something with a lot of personality, I live in the twin cities area in MN, and would be able to keep him outside during the summers, but thats only a few months, so it would be inside for the rest of the year. So I am just looking for advice on what kind of turtle/tortoise would be best for me! This forum is soo cool! |

I have heard that box turtles are good pets, but I started out with my RES so I am kinda biased.
Box turtles are supposed to be easy to take care of, but ofcourse, it depends on what people mean by easy, because if you do all that you are supposed to do to take care of your turtle/tortoise, it should be pretty hard, cleaning after it, changing water, making sure it has proper lighting, heating, filtration, and so on. So in my opinion, they are all hard to care for, but that is the responsibility you take on when you get a pet, it is kinda like getting a baby, everything else becomes secondary. _________________
