So I have been storing all these questions for a while trying to find a good message board so...excuse all the postings Laughing

So my question is I have 2 res about 4" and I used to keep fish for them that they could eat when they wanted in the tank, but they quickly became very good hunters so now I save it as a treat for the weekend. Last weekend I thought I would try about 20 minow and maybe they would just eat their fill and then leave the rest for later. I was extremely wrong. They ate every single minow- and these weren't small, within about a half an hour. Are they starving or are they just piggies? I usually feed them some commercial turtle food in the morning -not much and then either more commercial turtle food with a veggie (usually carrots, tomatoe or watercress) at night, or I will substitute for crickets or blood worms(maybe 2 crickets or 1 cube frozen blood worms each) with the veggies. I have researched alot, some say this is too much food, some say it's good to feed small meals often. How do I tell as they always act like their starving.

How much should I be feeding and how often? They don't appear to be overweight or anything?? Please help I'm most definitely confused.

Thank you for all your knowledge!

lol they are little pigs Laughing

i do think this is too much. check if they're over-weight by flipping them and checking their bottoms. if u see flesh coming out from the hands and feet holes (all the time not only when breathing), this means they are over-weight and need to be put on a diet. if u feel they're always hungry, feed them more veggies and not commercial food or crickets. let those be as a basic small daily meal only. they will keep eating as long as they find food so.. Smile
