|
|
My turtles are getting big now and I got them a bigger "dock" to bask on..
So far the only thing they use it for is a back scratcher and I havnt seen them laying on it.
So I put the old ramp that they used back in its spot and put the new dock right next to so it acts as one big piece.
Im worried that there not basking and cant figure out there new place...
Anything I can do??? |

give them some time and they'll get used to it. i have a whole new home for my turtles and was excited to put all the new stuff i got for them but couldn't bcz they're not using the new floating boat i got for basking. i guess the reason is they have sea sickness
waiting for the pix _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo

I took some last nigth but never got around to taking them off the camera, these 13hour shifts wear me out.
It was funny watching them almoft fight over the right spot to scratch there shells against it but I still dont think there climbing on it. |

They would get on it, only rub there shells against it.. so I put another big rock they can crawl on to in there and it seems to give them more room with out them freaking out.... |

that's nice and they're still now basking?? can u fix the ramp in a way to be coming out (leading) to the dock? they might continue walking to it when they don't find enough space for them on the ramp. i know it wouldn't look that good but u can put it back after a while if they get used to it _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo

I thought they would love the new basking area but they would never get on it and Karen was worried that they were not going to use it and get sick..
I need to tear down there tank and clean it out real good and I might try to use it again... |

It takes them a while to get used to new surroundings, even though it is still the same tank, they get disoriented very easily. _________________

| Mine figured it out after a few hours. While I was rearranging the aquarium, I moved him up on the top for a few times then put a piece of food on the edge. |
