I need help on turtle behaivor for a baby turtle and a big..

I hade 2 turtles over a year and one died so the other one has been alone for a couple of months and i just got a new baby map back turtle and the big one tried o bite it one time then i took it out and put it ina container in the tank to get used to it then it got used to it but tried to bite its head later i dont know if its just trying to get used to it what it also does is go back and forth snifing it and shakes its hand realy fast and i dont know and making it scared and i only had him for 2 days what do i do?

I don't know for sure but what it sounds like is your big turtle is being taratorial, which can happen..
I read that turtles work best alone anyway cuase when you have 2 or more togehter they either get along or they get teratorial, so i would probably get a seperate tank for him maybe untill he's a bit bigger...

They usually tolerate each other if they have been together in the same tank all of their time that you have had them, but if you put one in about a month or so later, the one that was there first will be trying to let the other one know that he/she is the boss, especially if the new one is smaller, I have read about smaller turtles coming up with a leg or arm missing, because the bigger one bit it off, I would separate them before something like that happens, or get a big enough tank that they can get out of each other's hair. Very Happy
