So, after three months I finally got a handle on the cloudy water! I was using this "Turtle Clean" stuff in the water, it was supposed to break up food and poop. It just made the water cloudy, so I got rid of it. I got better filter media, one that picks up fine particles. I also add "Acurel F" with the water conditioner and the tank looks like it's filled with Aquafina!!  I just got a basking light, and the goofballs love it! They were swimming all around and going on and off the rock. I think they were doing cannonballs!! They are getting used to being handled, Maui doesn't bite as much. They're really excited when the go in the feeding tank, but after they eat they love to just hang out in the trees! (pigs) Maui likes her shell and head rubbed, she even closes her eyes and lays her little head down. Oahu (male) is eating a lot more and becoming a lot braver. He's still the whimp of the group, but he's getting there! He needs to catch up to the other two! Kauai is the biggest, she's getting heavy and strong! Thanks everyone for the advice!! |
