I have two types of turtles: One painted turtle: Myrtle and one Red Eared turtle. I just found out that they were different by searching the site. Should I seperate them or are they okay together.
I have noticed that my baby turtle:Myrtle has been biting Dee a lot. Dee is twice as big as Myrtle, I don't know their sexes. I thought I had one male and one female but now I have to check. Please tell me if I should worry. |

How big are they, if they are still tiny and you put them in the tank at the same time, there shouldn't be too much problem, until they are about 3 or 4 inches, that's when their hormones start to kick in. Painted and RES turtles are pretty similar as far as feeding and setups, but if you see alot of agression, you should separate them, mine will nip at each other once in a while, usually because one is trying to mate and the other doesn't want to. _________________
