| My boys found a very small turtle (size of a small silver dollar). It\'s shell is not domed, but an exact circle. Color is the usual color of a reg. turtle. No distictive colors or markings. Likes to swim in water, then gets out and buries himself in the dirt. What type of turtle is this and how should I care for it? |

| If this is a wild turtle, which I assume it is, you should find a safe place to let it go free as it was found. It would be ok to keep it a day or two, to look at - but it needs to be let go. I think others would agree with me on this, that turtles are not a pet to go into lightly. They need a lot of \"equipment\" and they live a very long time. What will you do when this turtle reaches adulthood - possibly 10 - 12 inches big, and needs a very large aquarium? |

If it\'s a dark color close to black and it really likes to burry itself it might be a musk turtle or a common marsh turtle. What color is it?That would help out alot. _________________ I now work at Petco so if you have serious question I can ask our vet every Friday. Just email me the Q.
