| I have a 5 year old turtle. SHe is quite big and I was told she would not be able to live with another turtle at this age. I think she is lonely. What can I do? She has been eating her floating docks I have replaced 2 and now bought one that is made out of hard plaster like a rock and she is trying to eat it too. Friday I found an egg she had laid behind a brick that I had tried to use to make a dock for her but she didnt not get on it. She has not used her basking area in 4 days. Is something wrong? Behavior seems different. thanks |

welcome to the board:)
i feel bad for ur girl cz she seems to be lonely..but also u can't risk and get another turtle..they might not get along..except if u have space for another one then it's worth a try..if not, get her some fish for the meanwhile..she'll enjoy following and eating them..
good luck and keep us posted _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo

| What do you mean by if I have room for another turtle? do you mean tank wise purchase a larger one or set up beside existing tank? We will be moving soon and plan to construct a pond habitat for Goliatha. What kind of fish should we feed her? Thanks for your reply, our turtle is such a big part of our family, we want her to be happy |

if u're going to build a pond then it's the best timing for getting a new turtle..to be on the safe side, u have to get the new one and put it in the new place b4 u introduce ur girl there..in that way she will not feel that someone is trying to take her place and will not fight..
u can get any type of fish..ask any petshop and they will have many choices for u..just don't get expensive ones cz u don't know when will she decide to get rid of them
good luck and keep us posted..yeah pond pix plz _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo
