how many pellets do u feed him? hatchlings need to eat twice a day so u can split the quantity u are giving him in half and feed him some in the morning and the rest at night..u can keep some green leaves in there but i doubt he'll eat them cz baby turtles are like baby humans, they hate veggies
after a while u'll know how to balance it..keep cutting the portions off when u see he's getting overweight by flipping him,, if u see flesh coming out from him hand and feet holes then he'll need a small diet _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo

i have hatchlings too. they looooveee to eat.. anything and everything lol.
i do what you do too, they get pellets in the day and some snacks at night. (mostly more pellets and some carrot chunks) they tear into it so fast that they don't know what they're eating lol.
they also love to eat calcium blocks, if you can get a hold of one of those, it'll be really good.
yea, i'm having that problem too. my sis and i were looking for apartments that you can have animals. technically a turtle (in louisiana anyway) is considered a fish until it's over 4 inches. so you might be able to have one.. we're allowed to have pets in our dorms..
and i'm going to bring my turtles in my dorm.. my mom said she'd feed them everyday for us.. but i don't know. i brought them all home.. so they're my responsibilty. lol. when they get bigger, i'm just going to bring huge tupperware containers into my dorm room.. they'll think i'm just bringing in regular junk for my dorm lol.
i hope it all works out! good luck with college ^__^ _________________
