I recently was given a baby slider turtle and I have put him in my small pond in my back yard. I have Koi fish and a very strange, but cute frog that live in the pond. Tuddles seems to be very happy for the week that he has been living with us. I have placed flat rocks on one of the plant shelves in the pond so he can bask in the sun. He does come out, but hurries in the water when he sees me coming. He loves the Koi pellets that I give three times a day. I have seen him eat tree in an hour. So I know he must be somewhat happy. But does Tuddles need a mate? _________________ tuddles the turtles mom |

I agree, he does have lots of friends, but I think I will get him one of "his own kind". I can not imagine him being more active, but I would like to see if he is going to "partner up" with his friend. I will let you know. Maybe it will be a girl. _________________ tuddles the turtles mom |

hopefully (if u have space for babies)..and since he lives in a pond then i don't think u would mind that
u might want to do it quick b4 he gets bigger than his pond-mates and eat them (cz turtles eat fish and frogs or anything smaller than their size)
good luck and keep us posted _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo

i had one turtle by itself.. and all it would do is sit and sulk in the corner but since you have a lot of room, i'd get another mate for the turtle.
i think they're somewhat socialble creatures. i know my turtles make noise and get roudy when they're not together. _________________
