i don't know if this is something or not, but i was looking at the little cooter that my sis has and its eye looks like a little bubble...i don't know if it's just water, but i don't think it is. do you know what it could be or how to fix it? i just noticed this and haven't had the chance to bring it up to my sister. oh i hope the poor thing isn't getting sick, we just got the turtle and it's so tiny. could someone please help. _________________ everytime i said i loved you, that was just a lie saved for someone else... |

swollen eyes is one of the common diseases between hatchlings and can be easily treated if it was the simple case..make sure first that it doesn't show any other signs of illness like soft shell, over-basking, not eating, listing,...
2nd, do u have the needed lights? what is the temp in there? raise them a little bit to the 80's and keep the little guy under the UV lights some more time..3rd, go to a petshop and get turtle eye drops..if u can't find them, go to a normal (human) pharmacy and get human eye drops but make sure they are ok for animals..u can substitute that with cod liver oil tablets..break them in halves and rub them gently with a clean cloth on his eyes..i used cold tea once and it worked too
good luck and keep us posted _________________ Wed 10/27/2004 is the worst day..i lost my best friend Leo

Does the eye itself look normal when open, but does there appear to be a clear bubble over it? It possibly could be a protective lens that turtles have over their eyes.
If not, can you describe it in more detail, or, better yet, post a pic? |

it's ok. i'm just an idiot and pox is evil. it was a water bubble on her eye, but she was just looking at me through it...so i thought it was her eye. i feel so stupid, i even went online and talked with a live chat vet to see what the problem is. she's ok, she was just being an evil little turd. _________________ everytime i said i loved you, that was just a lie saved for someone else... |
