Yeah I awoke this morning not only to find one of my many snails have laid eggs. I decided to get some good shots of this for the fact thet In the 17 years I\'ve been owning water snails. I have never had one lay eggs on me. Well not really on me....

Any one know where I can get some cheap Apple snails ???

yeah the turtles were there so I took some new pics of them as well. Check it out.

ur turtles look happy..i really find them sweet they seem to get along fine

those are the eggs?? WHOA i hate insects but i have to admit that those look cool..

lucky u!! i can wait till my snail have babys(that way i can stop buying some)
but the turtle eat them a soon as they come in the tank!!
but now then i start a \"feeding tank\"(guppy,snail ect..)i should have some baby\'s pic to show soon...

i noticed that you don\'t have an area in your tank where your turtles can get to dry \"land\". maybe i\'m just missing it?

When I took the pics of the tank I just filled the tank. I tend to fill it because with my 2 bubble wands and the heat from thte laml, on top of being in the garage, the water tends to evaporate. Scince I took those pictures It\'s gone about an inch or two. My basking area is a work in progress. I have 2 small bricks that hold one large piece of slate rock. In between the \"pillars\" I keep the filter. I took me about a year to get that setup and when it was done I wasn\'t happy with it. so back to the drawing board. Thats a 56 gallon wide. And I keep getting offers to upgrade the tank. I don\'t have alot of money so that has to stay on the back burner.

i can see a basking area in that pic..it\'s at the left something like a tall rock..

but look at the basking light .. it\'s over the area where there is no dry land. :/

Yeah, they both are big already, I had to catch her (that is shelly btw) off guard, because they jump into the water as soon as they see me, I think they do that to annoy me, they know I am the one who feeds them so they should be used to me by now:D

she should have seen u with the side mirror but must be too lazy to be scared..sometimes i\'m too lazy to run away when i see a dragon fly so i understand what she feels:p

I actually got her by surprise, I came up to the tank almost crawling so they wouldn\'t see me and I inched up my camera and as soon as I had it right where I wanted it I snapped the picture:D

that's a prety cool article about teh snails stray, after my turtles ate a few of my sister's snails.. i bought them their own aquarium.. lol.

now they happily blub along.. and live with a pleco.. who was also a victim of the turtle tank... (we thought since it was bigger then the turtles they'd leave it alone.. wrong o!)

Cant turtles eat the apple snail?? or there shell is too hard???

Some do, some don't, it depends on the turtle, remember that anything you put in the tank will eventually become part of thier menu, if the turtle doesn't eat the snail, great, you have a snail that will help you clean the food that is left over. Very Happy

Just don't get a whole bunch for the turtles to eat, if they don't, you might have a snail population increase. Very Happy
