Axle is my 4 yr old Giant Common Snapping Turtle. He\'s a big lazy baby weighing about 15 pounds. He gets either a mouse or a tin of cat food (Nutro top of the line) on a fork (not joking, he has table manners) once a week, mostly the cat food.
hmmmm. He enjoys going for walks on the front lawn & basking on the driveway beside the cars (thats the only spot with a bit of sun).
He\'s super friendly & loves exploring & climbing stuff.
Once he climbed up onto my bed, walked across & hopped into his pond. It was quite neat to watch him climb up onto my bed.
He lives in a 160 gallon pond beside my bed. I rent a bedroom in the city of Ottawa (/ont/canada) in an unfinished basement. Its the perfect temp for him. His heater heats my bedroom in the winter (no heat in here, turned it off due to the chain smoking upstairs...yuck) & the cement floor keeps the pond cool & me cool during the hot summer
u can see Axle in his gallery at http://jess.iahu.ca go to gallery, critters & then Axle. |

| I have one RES named Crush (also from Finding Nemo!) I let my brother name it. Now that I found out it\'s a girl, the name doesn\'t sound as good, but it\'s not bad either. She\'s such a sweetie. I bought her a kiddie pool and I go outside and sit or lie down in it with her while she swims around. She likes to hold on to me and climb up on me to look around. Her favorite thing to do is go under me when I\'m lying down. She wants to go everywhere she can\'t. She\'s so persistent and will keep pushing me until I lift up and let her under! It\'s funny. And whenever someone else comes outside, she\'ll jump in the water and hide under me until she sees who it is. Then she\'ll peek out and if it\'s someone in my family, she\'ll swim over to them. I love her so much. |

| That\'s cool. I\'m glad someone else enjoys their turtle(s) as much as I do. |
