I know there is a topic about turtle sounds. That is primarily focused on the sound of air escaping the lungs when the RES is escaping to its shell, usually when handled. The sound I\'m interested in learning about is when the my female RES is using air in her throat to float. I hear the noise only every once in a while (several times a day) its like a wheezing or wimpering, like a dog would make. I\'ve had her in a tank for over 6 months & w/ a mate since we\'ve had her (about 8 months). For pics visit (http://www.rickersons.com/turtles.htm)

I would be careful because when wheezing is present it could be a sign your turtle has an upper respiratory infection. Here is a site that states this:
