| basically a female is larger then a male if they are at the same age if ur turtles are around 4 years old flip them over and look underneath there tail and look for the private part. dont listen to all that bull about claws |

| To tell the sex of any turtle you check the shell. You usually can not tell until they are about 5 years old, the shell is usually about 5 inches in diameter. The males shell underneath will be concave (dents in) this is so he can mount the female for mating. The females shell will be convex (curves out) this is to have room for her eggs. Hope this helps. |
